Happy New Year to everyone!!

It is a real pleasure to have been selected to be your Children’s Committee Director for the coming year!  Illustrious Scott Hair really reached down deep in the old barrel to select my name for this job, and I hope that I can fulfill his expectations… as well as yours (especially you drivers).

First off I want you to know that this Children’s Office has an outstanding new member on the staff this year that will be helping to keep me straight in my job.  We are very fortunate to have none other than Illustrious Jim Matchkus, P.P., who has joined forces with Honorable Hayward Shirey, Emeritous Director, in helping to fulfill the duties of this office.  With their vast experience on the needs of our many Child Patients I feel positive that your expectations for this Office will be met.  With the assistance of our many volunteer drivers to transport our many patients, I know that the Children’s Office will have a very good new year.

For the past year (2012) you will be pleased to know that this Office assisted with the needs of 174 patients in their transportation and/or motel accommodations while being treated in our Shrine Hospitals.  For those that were transported in our vans, we are grateful for the assistance of 26 different Nobles who volunteered their time to drive the patients to the hospitals.

I hope that you will have a very good new year, too!
